Economy & Jobs

As a state heavily reliant on the tourism sector, Nevada faces unique challenges in ensuring economic stability. As a small business owner, Lori recognizes the impact of economic swings and is committed to fostering an environment that supports the creation of stable, well-paying jobs. Drawing from her personal experience, Lori has priorities that resonate with many Nevadans. She intends to advocate for policies that:

  • Favor business sustainability so that companies can weather economic shifts and continue to provide steady employment.

  • Encourage educational and training programs aligned with the needs of local businesses to ensure a skilled workforce that can fill quality, long-term jobs.

  • Engage in continuous dialogue with business leaders to align economic development initiatives with the practical needs of small and medium-sized businesses.

  • Eliminate the tangle of overbearing regulations that serve only to delay and complicate, clearing the path for business innovation and efficiency.

  • Encourage the growth and success of small businesses, acknowledging their pivotal role in the state’s economy.

  • Attract corporations to Nevada, offering them an atmosphere for innovation, which in turn would be a catalyst for economic diversification and job creation.

Nevada is also one of the fastest-growing states in America. Tens of thousands of people are moving to our state, and we simply do not have enough housing. The federal government owns at least 70% of Nevada’s land and Lori believes that’s wrong. After all, how can we build more housing if we don’t have the land to build on?

Lori supports Governor Lombardo’s call for the release of more federally owned land for economic development and affordable housing. She will also pursue policies that lower the cost of building and increase the housing supply by streamlining the permitting process as much as possible.
