Lori’s family history is rooted in the entrepreneurial spirit, exemplified by her grandfather, a small business owner with a journey marked by resilience. Having arrived in the United States as a young child from a village in eastern Poland, he carried with him the promise of a new life. With unwavering resolve, he later became the owner of a small business that delivered snacks and other goods to taverns and stores.

This spirit of enterprise was inherited by Lori’s mother – a determined woman who after years of waitressing took the bold step of buying and operating a tavern. She worked hard for many years and became a successful businesswoman in an industry known to be challenging and tough. Her mother’s determination and true grit deeply influenced Lori and taught her the value of work, compassion, and the resolve necessary to be successful in a demanding industry.

The belief that hard work can lead to success is deeply woven into the journey of Lori’s family. Following the perseverance of her grandfather and the courage of her mother, Lori’s journey underscores her ambition and strength to continue the pursuit of the American Dream, just like so many others who believe in the opportunities that our country and state provide. Within two generations since her grandfather’s arrival in the United States, Lori is now running to represent her community.

Lori’s story is not only a testament to the power of perseverance but to the value of education. As a teenage parent, Lori quickly understood the necessity of acquiring an education and a practical skill set to secure a stable future for herself and her child. Specializing in typing and stenography, she leveraged these legal secretary skills to gain employment at a large law firm.

While working at the law firm, Lori was encouraged to further pursue her education. She embraced this opportunity with steadfast determination, attending Rutgers University at night and graduating Phi Beta Kappa with high honors, all while working full-time and raising a child.

Balancing a demanding job at a prestigious law firm and the responsibilities of raising a child on her own did not deter Lori. Spurred on by the support of her colleagues, she attended Rutgers Law School while still working and caring for her family. This monumental effort stretched over 12 years, a period in which Lori’s resilience and commitment never wavered, leading her not only to complete her college degree and law degree but also to set a powerful example of what can be accomplished through hard work, sacrifice, and dedication.

In 2012, Lori founded the Rogich Law Firm, serving as legal counsel and developing strategic plans for clients in regulated industries. While Lori’s expertise in law has made her a well-respected attorney, her journey as a child advocate began with personal experiences of injustice within the Clark County School District. Seeing the obstacles her own daughter faced, Lori fought for her daughter’s rights to receive an education. This fight took seven-years and went all the way to the federal court with Lori winning a groundbreaking decision on every count against the CCSD. This seven-year victory came long after Lori’s daughter graduated high school and set a national legal precedent that would provide a voice and protection for all Nevada families whose children have learning differences, such as dyslexia, autism, ADHD, dyscalculia, auditory processing and more.

The ripple effect of this legal triumph was immediate and became a beacon of hope for many families who were struggling with the school district’s failure to accommodate their children’s special needs. Recognizing the widespread need for information and support, Lori and her husband, Sig, brought back their legal team and educational experts to create a free two-day seminar.

This event was designed to provide all families, advocates, and teachers free access to special education attorneys and experts, to ask questions and to receive guidance on their children’s educational rights. The seminar was not only free to the public but was filmed and made available to the community on YouTube in English with Spanish caption.

Lori’s dedication to ensuring families have the necessary resources to advocate for their children’s educational rights is an extension of her life’s narrative — a story of persevering against the odds and using one’s accomplishments to make a difference in the lives of others.

In her role as Co-Chair of Governor Lombardo’s Education Transition Committee, Lori was also involved in making and overseeing recommendations to improve Nevada’s school system. Further demonstrating her civic engagement, she was appointed to the Cannabis Advisory Commission by Governor Lombardo in March 2023. However, Lori recently stepped down from this position to concentrate on her political campaign.

Lori and her husband Sig Rogich, who has an extensive background in politics and public service, including roles as a U.S. Ambassador, Senior White House Assistant to President George H.W. Bush, and Co-Director of Ronald Reagan’s re-elect campaign, support the Clark County Public Education Foundation and its mission to grant awards and scholarships, and to provide services to help children succeed.
